Original Trivet Design

Here’s a design idea that was considered and discarded when we were coming up with concepts for the group of objects that would become the Brass Family. This trivet had a hinged moving element of press-fit dowel pins that allowed the trivet to adjust its footprint to adapt to a dish with equal proportions, like a square or a circle, or an oblong shape, like an ellipse or a rectangle. It also picked up on the diamond profile in our logo.

The epoxy coloring here is used as a soft pad for the contact points with the dish, the epoxy being rated to 500F degrees.
